Prior to TCT: The Little Years
Today I had the lovely opportunity to meet with a group of new homeschool moms to share curriculum, give glimpses into our days, and ultimately have a “book tasting” where each mom brought some samples, books, etc and just gather and chat and flip through books. The PERFECT afternoon if you ask me! It’s never enough time to get with like minded moms and chat about resources you love! Which got me thinking, I’ve loved every single resource I’ve used (thankfully) thus far in ou

But, what do you do!??
I recently had the opportunity to chat with Amanda Faus, the author of The Children’s Tradition, the curriculum we use in our homeschool. After talking with her, I felt like it was way harder than I expected to pinpoint our school days and what they look like since we’ve woven our school into a way of life rhythms. It’s all intertwined, and hard to distinguish where school begins and ends… because it doesn’t! Our entire days are school days. And before I really understood my

Wrestling with Winter
Some days I feel split in two, completely pulled in all the directions at once. I am always carrying something: a deadline, a baby, a lesson plan, a meal to cook, a calling I can’t quite name, obligations of work and home continuously. A blessing. 2026 Is Here!
The new year is here, how are we already here!? I feel like time and days are slipping past me and I’m still trying to get my footing. Not necessarily in our rhythms, but just that the days have been so filled with family time (which we’ve loved so much) or me constantly feeling like I’m “getting back into rhythms.” Which… I mean how many times can I feel like that!? Apparently a lot. This last year was unique in many ways as we’ve had a new baby, lots of extended travel, exp

Christmas School
Christmas is just days away and I thought I’d jot down what we have made our “Christmas School” this year, and how we’ve still kept up our TCT rhythms we love so much. First and foremost, Christ is the reason for Christmas after all, so making sure the bulk of our Christmas books draw us back to Him is important to me. We love and embrace the whimsy, too, at our house, however, that is most important! We keep our normal benediction table and Bible readings. Aside from our typ

Our first Saint Nicholas Day!
As I lean more into learning more about the liturgical year and adding in traditions to our home that center us in Christ, I am in awe at how the Lord just gives us little touch points and blessings and Saint Nicholas Day will forever be one who calls remembrance to my father in-law, our very own Saint Nicholas to be remembered. Tomorrow, December 6th, 2025 , is Saint Nicholas day. But it’s also the day of my father in-law’s memorial service. He passed away a few weeks ago in
